BYSIEWICZ LAUNCHES NEW WEB
FEATURE TO EASE THE VOTING PROCESS
SECRETARY OF THE STATE UNVEILS A NEW WEB FEATURE ALLOWING VOTERS
TO CONFIRM THEIR VOTER REGISTRATION AND LOCATE POLLING PLACES
HARTFORD: Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz today launched a new web feature to
ease the voting process by allowing voters to confirm their voter registration and locate
polling places. While some towns have similar web features, this is the first statewide
program of its kind in Connecticut.
“I am very excited about this new web feature,” said Secretary Bysiewicz, Connecticut’s
chief elections official. “This program will make the voting process easier. Citizens can
confirm their voter registration in advance, so no one will mistakenly miss out his or her
opportunity to register and vote. Each day we are making strides to improve the electoral
system in Connecticut and I think this is another step in the right direction.”
To access voter information, one must provide his or her legal name, town of residency,
and birthday. Once the web feature confirms this information, a voter can see if he or she
is registered to vote. The website will also provide the location of the individual’s polling
place. Users must be aware that occasional special conditions can force changes in
polling places. For the most up to date location, voters should check with their town
offices and local registrar of voters.
