Avon is divided into two General Assembly voting districts as depicted in the map below; the broken line, basically following the Rails-to-Trails, is the boundary between the two districts.

Absentee Ballots
Any qualified registered voter may vote using an absentee ballot for the following reasons:
Voter Registration cards can also be obtained at libraries throughout the state and at Motor Vehicle offices. You may register by mail or in person. If you wish to register by mail, please call our office (409-4350) and we will be happy to mail you a Voter Registration Card.
Illness or physical disability
Absence from town during all election hours
Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
Active service in the Armed Forces
Applications for Absentee Ballots can be obtained from the Town Clerk or from the office of the Secretary of the State at www.sots.state.ct.us. After the completed application is returned to the Town Clerk, the office will send a ballot and instructions to you as the law allows, generally about one month before a scheduled vote.
