The Town Clerk provides administrative support to the Town Manager and Town Council, maintains the minutes of all Town Council meetings and posts meeting schedules for all Boards and Commissions.
The Town Clerk's office issues hunting, fishing and dog licenses, marriage licenses; administers election laws, registers new voters and processes absentee ballots. Trade Name certificates for local businesses are recorded with this office.
The Town Clerk is responsible for Avon records, which include land records, birth and death certificates, and veterans' discharges. Certifications of Notaries Public are recorded; resident landfill disposal permits and Dial-A-Ride tickets are issued.
