Information concerning natural or man-made disasters is announced on local radio station WTIC AM 1080.
For announcements on weather warnings and closings, tune to WTIC AM 1080.
Emergency shelters are located in the Avon public schools.

The Office of the Town Manager serves as director of Emergency Management Services, working in tandem with the Avon Police and Fire Departments. Emergency Management incorporates a comprehensive, integrated program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery for emergencies and disasters of any kind.
