Food Pantry/Bank: Community donations of non-perishable food items allow emergency assistance to residents throughout the year. During the holiday season, we provide food and gifts to low and moderate income families to brighten their holidays. The Food Bank is open Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., and is located in the back of Saint Ann's Church (corner of West Avon Road and Arch Road). If you have never visited the Food Pantry, please call Social Services at (860) 409-4346 or visit the office for eligibility requirements and to fill out an application.
Mobile Foodshare: Free fresh produce is now available to families struggling to make ends meet in the Farmington Valley. A farmer's market-style program called Mobile Foodshare will distribute fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods as well as other products as available on alternate Tuesday mornings starting March 25, 2008 rain or shine. It is held in the front of St. Ann's Church, 289 Arch Road, Avon between 10:15-11:00am. No appointment or documentation is necessary.

SNAP (formerly known as FOOD STAMPS) helps people to afford more food for themselves and their families. SNAP benefits are available through and Electronic Benefit Transfer system (EBT). You may us SNAP benefits to buy food at some neighborhood grocery stores, most major supermarkets, and some farmers markets.
