Real Estate: Due in two installments, July 1 and January 1 of each year. Taxes due on July 1 must be paid on or before August 1. Second installments must be paid on or before February 1. Interest charge on delinquent bills is 1 1/2% per month from due date. WE DO NOT MAIL BILLS AGAIN FOR THE JANUARY PAYMENT.
Personal Property: Due in full July 1 of each year
Motor Vehicle: Due in full July 1 of each year
Supplemental Motor Vehicle: Due in full January 1 of each year
Sewer Use: Due in full July 1 of each year for those homes connected to the Avon sewer system.

Yes, But not in the office only on line or by phone. There is a nominal fee charged by Official Payments.
Why do I have to pay 3% interest on August 2nd, I am just one day late?
The law states that the interest reverts to the due date, which is July l.
Why do I have to pay interest, I never received my bill?
Connecticut Statutes states that failure to receive a bill does not abate the tax or the interest. My taxes are no longer being escrow, what should I do? Notify the Collector of Revenue so that your account can be re-coded. Are there programs for elderly residents?
Yes. You will need to contact the Assessor's Office at 860-409-4335 since there are age and income requirements.
Are there programs for Veterans or people in the military?
Yes. If you have your DD214 it must be filed with the Town Clerk's Office 860-409-4310. If you are on active duty or in the reserves and not active contact the Assessor's Office.
